In the Yoruba Orisa tradition, the ancestors are the foundation of all things. They are the link between the natural world and the supernatural world. In the Orisa tradition, as in many other indigenous traditions around the world, we commemorate the work, struggles and triumphs of the people who came before us by honoring and remembering them and their lives. Through reverence, we continue to have them with us as teachers and guides.
